Really appreciate your efforts, podcast and ... the Nieman prediction was really interesting, Nikita, but ... why such a sole focus on audio? What about video/visual impact? Putting them together to me would be more dynamic, and a 'audio-visual conversation' could/should amplify the benefits,

Thank you Barney for your kind words and thoughtful comment! To clarify, my focus in the prediction isn’t just on the medium of audio but on conversational AI—which uses voice-first AI as the foundation of a conversational interface for news. But this approach goes beyond audio alone; the multimodality of AI inherently combines audio and video to create richer, more dynamic experiences.

Just last month, ChatGPT introduced real-time video in its advanced voice mode, allowing users to point at their surroundings or live video and have a conversation about it. This showcases how "audio-video" interfaces can create immersive and interactive experiences. However, at the core of all this is conversational AI—the technology that drives these interactions.

What I’m proposing as an industry is a focus on building narrative AI—AI that makes conversations about news dynamic and integrates storytelling capabilities. This evolution will begin with voice-first experiences and naturally expand to multiple modalities, transforming news from one-way broadcasting into two-way conversational engagement.

Thanks! Reminds me of the latest Media Copilot podcast with the creator of the AskNews app - yep, interacting with the bot about what's going on in the news. A sign of things to come I'm sure!
